Christine O’Donnell Responds to Rehashed Rumors of Misuse of Funds By Liberal Media

Of course, they had to use an unflattering photo of conservative Christine O’Donnell for their report.

Friends of Christine O’Donnell released this statement tonight.

Christine O’Donnell’s campaign released the following statement in response to rumors of a legal investigation. The O’Donnell campaign revealed that prior to today Democrat insiders had warned her that the “Establishment” were planning to use phony investigations to end her political career.

Campaign Manager Matt Moran responded to the rumor of a criminal investigation,

“We have heard absolutely nothing other than the same unsubstantiated allegations and rumors that have been circulating in the press for months. If anything does materialize from this rumor, we will continue to fully cooperate as we have made every attempt to ensure we are in compliance with all rules and regulations. The politically motivated charge was all started by false accusations by Christine’s political opponents, and ratcheted up by former Biden staffer Melanie Sloan and CREW with their false claims. Let us be clear: there was no impermissible use of campaign funds. Period. This is just an ongoing effort by the George Soros-funded CREW and other liberal groups and individuals to intimidate and threaten Christine, even after the election.“

Christine O’Donnell commented further:

“Since anonymous sources are being taken seriously, please allow me to share some tips I’ve received and keep the tipsters’ identities anonymous. We’ve been warned by multiple high-ranking Democrat insiders that the Delaware Democrat and Republican political establishment is jointly planning to pull out all the stops to ensure I would never again upset the apple cart. Specifically they told me the plan was to crush me with investigations, lawsuits and false accusations so that my political reputation would become so toxic no one would ever get behind me. I was warned by numerous sources that the DE political establishment is going to use every resource available to them. So given that the King of the Delaware Political Establishment just so happens to be the Vice President of the most liberal Presidential administration in U.S. history, it is no surprise that misuse and abuse of the FBI would not be off the table. And further connecting the dots, do you think it is just a coincidence that Melanie Sloan was a senior Biden staffer just before she joined CREW and filed her complaint against me?!”

O’Donnell referred in part to the fact that CREW’s complaint is based upon two people who have no knowledge about the matters they allege:

(a) Kristin Murray spent 1 1/2 weeks with Christine O’Donnel’s 2008 campaign spread over 3 weeks — most of it distracted by a family or personal concern — and was fired for not showing up to work due to the distraction. Thus, Kristin Murray’s claims are not made from any personal knowledge but Murray is simply repeating rumors started by others.

(b) David Keegan was allowed to organize one or more fund-raising bar-b-cues and events, but was never privy to the finances of either the O’Donnell campaign or O’Donnell personally. Keegan also has no knowledge of the issues he raises concerning O’Donnell.

O’Donnell added: “I have faith that our supporters and the general public will see right through these thug tactics. This is simply an Establishment trick to stop the anti-establishment Tea Party movement in its tracks. Heck, the Presidency is at stake in 2012.”

Boiled down to essential facts, the Associated Press report indicates only that a single person was interviewed in the routine handling of the September 21, 2010 complaint by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW).

This routine questioning to review and clear a complaint is being mischaracterized as something new or different. In reality “nothing happened” today except that it was a slow news day at the Associated Press.

Except when they actually have a chance at winning and scaring RINOs like you.

You don’t know @$^& if you’re calling me a RINO.

My point is that maybe they should encourage a few GOOD candidates to run if they’re going to derail a RINO. If the TPE believes O’Donnell and Angle were GOOD candidates, people like Harry Reid and Coons will keep going to Washington.

Your blindly referring to me as a RINO is just an ignorant statement.

“We’d be much better off with Sue Lowden or Danny Tarkanian.”

We’d be better off without RINO traitors who prefer Harry Reid to Sharron Angle.

Well, there you go again.

Assuming that I would vote for Harry Reid over Angle is just plain stupid. Given the choice, surely I would have supported Angle over Reid.

Let me simplify things a little for you. There are others out there that were far better suited to DEFEAT AND REMOVE Harry Reid from Washington. I believe there are plenty that could have defeated him that are as or more conservative than Angle. They weren’t there so why derail Sue Lowden or Danny Tarkanian?

Personally, I’d rather get 80% of what I want instead of 0%. With Harry Reid, I got 0%.

If you believe both Sue Lowden and Danny Tarkanian were RINOs, you might do a little research.

Personally, neither Angle or O’Donnell displayed the intellectual firepower to get elected. That’s why we have Reid and Coons.

Why not take your “opinion” over to the DummyUnderground, DailyKossakKids or Huff&PuffPost where it will be welcomed, appreciated and embraced.

Methinks you been smoking something other than corn cob silk and lost you way, troll!

Methinks you don’t have a clue.

Did the strategy work? The answer is “no.”

The TPE got deeply involved in three races — AK, NV, DE — and lost all three. Methinks it may be time to consider other strategies. Otherwise, we’ll keep sending folks like Reid and Coons to DC.

What I do have a huge problem with is people like you telling all of us here that we shouldn’t ever support a candidate who is going to have a difficult time winning the election, no matter how much we might agree with her in principle.

You’re welcome to put your money anywhere you wish. However, I believe in putting my money where I believe I will get a return. Sort of like in the stock market, regardless of how I feel about a company, I am not going to put money on things that I don’t believe will give me a good return.

Personally, I believe O’Donnell and Angle are good people and we politically share most views. However, neither came across to me as the very electable.

If I am going to take down a RINO (and I have absolutely no problem doing this), I am going to do it with someone I believe can win.

And you’re welcome to spend your money any way you see fit. I, however, will do the same.

Delaware was a “double or nothing” situation, and we wound up with nothing. Castle would have voted the right way maybe 50% of the time. O’Donnell would have been a solid conservative vote. Instead Biden’s seat will be held for at least the next 6 years by another cookie-cutter liberal (predicted ACU score: 0).

I agree with everything you say.

I promised myself some time ago that I would no longer be pragmatic with my principles. I would rather wait for four years to attack that seat again than apologize for supporting a conservative Republican nominee for the position. She was the nominee after all.

Had Mike Castle won the primary, I would have supported him with obvious reservations, but I would have supported him in the absence of a better candidate.
