"Some animals are more equal than others." Even in Mexico, they set up checkpoints to get drunken drivers and even in Mexico, they seize their cars.

I think it will be a fine “teachable moment” when one of these moonbats get’s their Prius t-boned by a ‘83 Monte Carlo piloted by a 0.23 “Citizen of the World”.

...that do not have a license but are really just abiding the law otherwise and are not drunk.

Last time I checked, driving without a license was illegal, so other than being in this country illegally, and driving without a license, they are just normal law abiding non-citizens...um ok.

In order to control the criminal element of our society we need profiling and must learn to ignore the term racism. We might tell minorities that we may embrace the term and all that it implies. They WILL obey our laws!

I am not convinced that Sitz and Martinez-Fuerte were correctly decided. Indeed, I rather doubt that the Framers of the Fourth Amendment would have considered "reasonable" a program of indiscriminate stops of individuals not suspected of wrongdoing.

Do we need to introduce “Drunk Cracker Affirmative Action” legislation to correct this injustice?

Drunk driving is an act of machismo for those guys. They think they can get off by bribing a cop for $20 as is the custom in Tijuana. Sad truth is that in parts of California a cop will walk away from an illegal alien traffic stop. They don’t need no stinkin insurance or drivers license. Californian is long gone. You people in other states should take a long hard look at what went wrong in California.

Eventually this problem will be solved when we have sharia law and alcohol is entirely banned. Just a few Democratic administrations away.

The part that is not mentioned in this article is that when the illegal's vehicle is impounded for driving without a license, the fee for getting the vehicle back is about $1,500. If they can't pay the vehicle is sold at auction. However it works out the tow company and the police split the fee.

The LA times did an expose last year and I seem to recall that there may have been something unseemly about the way the money was divided.

I predict that this will culminate in all vehicles sold in the US fitted with tamperproof ignition alcohol breathalizer interlocks. It’s the liberal playbook. Create the conditions necessary for a problem to fester, like the tidal wave of illegal aliens, then use that engineered problem as an excuse for one of their “solutions”. Hegelian dialectic I believe is the term.

The real issue is that police can’t use checkpoints designed for one purpose (DUI check, seat belt check, etc.) as a front to enforce something completely different. And you can’t have an checkpoint where the purpose is to check ID. Even Arizona’s law wouldn’t allow a checkpoint.

It’s kind of sad; rules that are there to protect upstanding citizens from fascist behavior also protects criminals.

undocumented immigrants = illegal invaders
drug dealers selling crack = unlicensed pharmacist

seems simple enough to me.

So political correctness is more important than the safety of other drivers on the road. Once again, the left proves that it is willing to offer up normal people on the altar of political correctness.

Why don’t we just pass a law, “Undocumented workers are above the law. They do not have to obey the laws that others have to obey. They can do as they please.” Might as well. It’s pretty much that way, anyway, and I don’t think the illegals and their advocates will rest until it is literally that way.

"It's obvious to us that for one, these things are targeting working class people, undocumented immigrants, that do not have a license but are really just abiding the law otherwise and are not drunk."

That could very well be the most insanely ridiculous thing I have ever heard come out of a human being's mouth.
Well...second only to everything that Nancy Pelosi has ever said.

California’s roads may get even worse. The state needs some actual law enforcement.
