Forgiveness for sins is a belief that is pretty fundamental to all Christian faiths. Michael Vick committed a serious crime, received punishment, and since then has in my opinion sincerely sought forgiveness.
As far as I am concerned, that is all there is to it. Killing dogs is brutish and sadistic, yes, but it is not a crime like rape or murder for which there is little room for redemption in the eyes of the law and of society in general. I’m sorry pt lovers, but at the end of the day an animal’s life is not 100% on par with a human’s life.
Michael Vick, given the sincere desire to turn his life around, should be given an opportunity to move on.
For me personally, the torture of these animals is a crime like rape and murder yes. He will get no forgiveness from me. I’m sure he’s all broke up about that too though, so take what I’m saying with a grain of salt.
It’s just simply something that I will not forgive. If you find that un-Christian of me that’s fine as well. Feel free to watch the videos available on what exactly dog fighting consists of and then make your judgment on my cruel unforgiving nature.
Saul of Tarsus turned his life around, and became the Apostle Paul. Good thing God chose to forgive and not kill him for murdering those early Christians.
All these folks who claim they cannot forgive Vick are going to have to answer a tough question from the Lord Jesus at the Great White Throne Judgment.
