mr. coder2 & I are planning a vacation to AZ in February --- nothing set in concrete yet, but part of our plan is to look for retirement possibilities (a few years off but not too soon to start looking).

Never been to AZ, so I'm really looking forward to it and knowing that AZ is committed to resolving the illegal situation in their state is an added plus.

Wonderful place to retire——hope you get to see the sights as you shop for real estate.

Ah, excellent idea. I really am considering moving back to AZ now; Napolitano run out of the state, Constitutional Carry, low taxes, honesty about the negative impact of illegal immigration, Bristol Palin moving to Pinal County, Marijuana legalized via constitutional provision, etc.

February/March are excellent. Comfortable in the deserts; plenty of snow in the mountains, if you want a short alpine break. If southern California is having a wet winter you may get a few storms, usually short. Even April is ok. Only go to the Arizona desert past April if you like hot. We also like mid-November thru mid-December especially (I went twice this year).

If for some odd reason you go in the hot season, make sure not to miss the early morning hour outdoors. The light is fabulous and colors are at the best, the temperature is comfortable, the birds are singing, and the air is clear. It's worth becoming a morning person. Or just stay up really, really late and sleep during the hot part of the day ( naps are good ).

I usually try to skip August and January. Tho after the dust storm desert sunset in August can be pretty intense.

Also hoping Beautiful New Mexico also comes to to the same conclusion as Arizona on illegal immigration and Demorat betrayal (Highly likely, a lot of the Native and Hispanic population is not comfortable with the Narco influenced invasion).
