We’re supposed to be up into the 40s over the next day or two here in southern Michigan. Liberals are already claiming proof of global warming but it isn’t really so unusual.

The worst ice storm I remember was on new years eve back in the early 80s.

My son thinks that the extreme weather on the east coast (and in Europe) is due to all the oil that is still in the Gulf of Mexico.....

Thoughts?

We’re supposed to be up into the 40s over the next day or two here in southern Michigan.

After being below normal temps for the past month, (we haven't been above freezing in a week or two) they are calling for temps in the low 50s with rain on New Years day here in Pittsburgh.

The problem with that? Well it is also the day the National Hockey League has their Winter Classic scheduled to be played outdoors at Heinz field. Yes, it is a big deal. Millions spent on setting it up. 65,000 + tickets sold. National TV broadcast on NBC.

Just watch the warmers blame Global Warming if the game needs to be canceled. I'd bet on it even though that type of weather in January is not all that unusual for this area.

The NHL says temps in the 50s are not a problem for the ice surface, they can handle that easily with their ice making system. But rain would be a killer. It would ruin the ice.
