“Drill here, drill now” wins it.

The Republicans should start discussing this likely hood now.

A lot of the people on this site who criticized the Chevy Volt are gonna wish they had one when gas goes to $5/gal. I'm gonna get a 40mpg car myself early next year.

Of course the Obama administration is doing everything wrong it possibly could in the area of energy policy. But you all know that.

“Under my policies, energy prices would necessarily skyrocket”. A direct quote from Barak Obama circa 2008

I think $5 in 2012 is too optimistic.

The Dems have been in exclusive control of the nation’s energy policy for more than 20 years. They’ve got no one to blame but themselves.

The socialists want it to go to at least $8.00

They thought they would get it when they created the fake “crisis” in the Carter years.

I lived in Calif then - and saw them deliberately shut down working wells to create the ‘crisis’ and I remember a lib-a*s senator from San Francisco, with a garage full of 11 Mercedes, opined that the little people did not need to be driving wherever they chose - that making gas too expensive would curtail this.

i.e., How to control the populace...the little peopleTHIS is the goal

This will be the end of the ruling elite. If it happens. And it might.

It was 2.89 when I went out today at the CHEAPEST station here in Memphis. Less than a month ago it was 2.49.

Globalism. Contrary to “free trade” propaganda over the past 3 1/2 years, the Chinese economy has not crashed from our lack of spending. Inflation will continue there, and eventually, inflation here in many other products.

Let the oil prices rise. Tougher, smarter Americans can handle that and will welcome smaller government and replacement of business, political and academic leadership as a result (un-payable debts).

Heard this many times over.. when oil prices skyrocket people cut back, demand drops and the prices drop again. It’s a constant cycle. Once BO get’s his dumbass out of DC then maybe we’ll open up all our own natural resources and prices will fall way down.. where they belong.

apparently this mutt isn't smart enough to understand that the majority of people can't afford $5.00 a gal for gas...

Obama blocks drilling off the coast of the US and in ANWR and then has his flunkies at the EPA declare that CO2 is a “pollutant” so they can regulate it, and just like Obastard said, under his plan energy prices will skyrocket.

Obastard will be viewed as pure evil by coming generations.

This might have been asked and answered, but how is it that during the democrat’s majority gas prices are low and reasonable? Republicans gain majority and prices are raised?

Possible. If this happens, we will have a deep depression. And there will be shortages in basic goods. The margin isn't high enough to absorb that type of inflation.
