Jackie Gingrich Cushman said that her father Newt Gingrich is more intent that ever on running for President in 2012. Gingrich has said that he will announce his decision on running in February or March.
“He’s very serious. He’s much more serious than he ever has been. And I can tell that because we actually sat down -- just the two of us -- for two hours recently. And I don’t think that’s happened since I had children,” said Cushman.
Newt Gingrich wrote the forward to his daughter’s new book, The Essential American: 25 Documents and Speeches Every American Should Own, which highlights the great documents and speeches in our nation’s history
I asked Cushman what about the country today has made her father more serious than every before about running for President.
“I think he’s very concerned because when you get down to the core argument-- when you talk about taxes, when you talk about where we are -- the fundamental difference is that conservatives believe that God gave people rights and we loan them to the government. They believe, as Calvin Coolidge did, that it’s the people money, and the government is supposed to spend it as wisely as possible.
“If you look at the language of President Obama and his administration, they really believe that it’s the government's money. They really believe that they can solve all those problems from Washington. That is a huge, fundamental difference.
“As a country we have to come to grips with, it’s not just partisan politics. Iit’s not just an arguing about tax cuts. We have a fundamental disconnect about how this country should operate,” said Cushman of her father’s perspective.
Cushman, a syndicated columnist and the author, said that her father asked her if she wanted him to run. She told him that it was his decision to make. “It’s up to him. But of course I would support him. I’ve always helped him in his campaigns ever since I was six [years old], so it’s been a long, long time.”
“All of my life, he’s always done what he has thought was best for our country. And I think that he’ll take all of that into consideration. So we’ll see in February or March,” said Cushman.
He has already proved he will cut and run. No thanks. Doesn’t keep promises.
Newt’s another has been who cannot find a constructive outlet for his energy outside the political arena.
The poor man has nothing—absolutely nothing—new and positive to contribute to conservative discourse. The Marxist Onada’s propaganda organs continue to give him air time because they know he’s a loser and might spoil things for a real conservative. Just another Marxist useful idiot.
Newt’s a RINO.

People are tired of the Bush’s but I do fear some of these other big names. Most people do not keep up with political news and are not familiar with each of their agendas.
I can remember a time, when I was very young, and voted for the person ‘I liked best’ and I was judging by what I was seeing on TV at that time! That’s how most vote nowdays too.
The man can not properly manage his personal life. Why should he be given the position of POTUS? Newt had his chance to do a lot of good for our nation. His own actions cost him that chance. His recent behavior of reaching out to hard core liberals is another reason I would not vote for Newt in the primaries or general. I’m tired of “It’s all about me” Newt.
It’s indicative of the weak field the GOP has right now.

Will he oppose Obama for the Democratic nomination? He’s certainly got the AGW and moral cred to run as a Democrat.

Newt will be wasting everyone’s time and be spending needless money for a position he’ll never get. Some people are just so full of themselves they can never grasp the big picture.
Newt has too much baggage and, justifiably or not, is seen as a member of the political generation that got us in the bad shape we are in.
