Though the Eagles didnt have a chance to make news on the field tonight, they made some more news off the field.
Peter King of NBC reported during Football Night in America that President Barack Obama recently called Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie to congratulate the team for giving quarterback Mike Vick a second chance.
President Obama explained that a level playing field rarely exists for prisoners who have completed their sentences. Vicks success gives all of them hope.
In our view, Obamas gesture also provides Vick with the kind of positive reinforcement that will help keep him out of any trouble during the 2011 offseason, once he is left to his own devices.

Made of glass? Westbrook is as tough as they come, his injuries were injuries of heart....from scratching and clawing for every inch he could get. IMO Westbrook is one of the three greatest RB’s in Eagles history (only behind Van Buren & Montgomery). Westbrook had a throwback attitude, unlike the current drama queens on the Eagles. When he reached the end zone he acted like he had been there before. McCoy is playing well, but he is not half the player Brian Westbrook was. Lurie & Banner have transformed this once great franchise into one of the most classless and immature teams in the NFL.

I'm not an Eagles' fan... my comment comes from having Westbrook on a few fantasy football teams. I lost many a games when Westbrook was carted from the field never to return. So, I stand by my statement. He's made of glass.
Now, I will absolutely agree that the Eagles are one of the most classless and immature teams in the NFL. All one had to do was watch the celebration by the Eagle defense when Austin Collie went down.

LOL, Thanks for the reply and I actually figured that could be the case.
My name is 07Jack and I am a recovering ex-Eagles fan. Now I'm relegated to the bitter group of disenfranchised ex-Eagles fans who lament about the good ole days of Van Buren, Bednarik and more recently Westbrook & Dawkins.
I apologize if I came across snarky, but I just can't resist any opportunity at getting digs in at the current team. Their success this season has pushed me close to the ledge....God help me if this team makes it to the Super Bowl....I may need some sort of therapy ;-)

You didn't come off as snarky at all.
I'm a Bengals fan so I've learned to live with constant disappointment. :>
Fortunately, less than 90 minutes away is Peyton Manning, so I get to watch a phenomenal quarterback play football.

One woman approached my priest asking for assurances that her dead dog was in heaven. He told her simply No, it isnt. Good for your priest.
