TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Police say the man who used a sword in a fight was acting in self-defense.
No names have been released in this bizarre story.
It happened at 4th and Lincoln in Terre Haute over the weekend.
Police say a man in a car went inside his home to grab a wooden club and tried to hit another man in the leg who was parked nearby.
That man used a sword to block the club from hitting him again and that's how he sliced off three of the man's fingers with his sword.
Police say the man with the sword will not face any charges.
However, they are presenting the case to the prosecutor to see if the man with the wooden club could face charges.
I'm going to seriously try not understanding that hypothesis ;^)
I can also vouch for Cold Steel products. I used to collect knives and own perhaps half a dozen of their knives (but no swords).
They have a reputation amongst knife aficionados for producing very high quality working knives at a reasonable price.
I always wanted a good sword but back in the day when I was an active collector, you either had to spend thousands of dollars to get a quality handmade, hand-forged sword, or settle for a wall-hanger (and who wants one of those?).
Now the Cold Steel Warrior Series Katanas look absolutely amazing to me. Four or five hundred dollars and you've got a serious, serious sword.
