Sacramento-area pilot punished for YouTube video

SACRAMENTO, CA - An airline pilot is being disciplined by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for posting video on YouTube pointing out what he believes are serious flaws in airport security.

The 50-year-old pilot, who lives outside Sacramento, asked that neither he nor his airline be identified. He has worked for the airline for more than a decade and was deputized by the TSA to carry a gun in the cockpit.

He is also a helicopter test pilot in the Army Reserve and flew missions for the United Nations in Macedonia.

Three days after he posted a series of six video clips recorded with a cell phone camera at San Francisco International Airport, four federal air marshals and two sheriff's deputies arrived at his house to confiscate his federally-issued firearm. The pilot recorded that event as well and provided all the video to News10.

The goal of Homeland Security is citizen compliance.

The goal is to make us inured to ever increasing levels of intrusion, and assaults on freedom. Like the "War on Drugs" made us inured to militarized police, property confiscations, and a general 'US and Them' relationship with law enforcement, the DHS TSA are using the "War on Terror" to take things to the next level, invading personal space with invasive searches, and the public space with "hometown security citizen snitch" programs rolled out at Wal Mart.

And using administrative punishment/civil penalties for anyone who points out the shortcomings in the stated goals of security, or the un-Constitutional over-reach of policy.

TSA has nothing to do with “security”...its the institutionalized harassment of Americans who dare to leave their little geographic region...

Most of us who fly regularly have already observed that a terrorist can easily pull off an attack by way of the comings and goings of the airports services — baggage handling, agents in and out of security doors, food services, deliveries. All anyone has to do is have a name tag through legitimate or illegitimate means. Or lack of enforcement of the airport’s internal security practices.

Some of that is unavoidable because there has to be the ability to provide services efficiently.

In addition, this country refuses to secured its borders at every level of immigration.

We’re wide open.

This sub-Saharan government is all about intimidation and silencing all critics. Just a matter of time before burning tires are thrown around the necks of the few dissenters that can’t be bought off. You can be sure once the Feds get control of the www most of us can expect a knock on our doors as well.

I viewed this pilots video and it is bullshit. I am no defender nof the TSA, far from it. I am sick and tired of the ignorance of the general public in regards to airport workers. We are not a bunch of low lifes that were flipping burgers last week and “going through security doors” this week. We have all had extensive background checks...and these checks are done by real law enforcment not TSA. We have the same security clearance at the airports if not better than flight crews. YOU DO NOT JUST HAVE TO HAVE A NAME TAG TO GET THROUGH A SECURITY DOOR. There are other codes etc... that have to be entered to access a secure area. I assume you do not work at an airport or for an airline or you would have a better knowledge of what really goes on behind the scenes. If you really want us to be screened every time we have to access a secure area, then good luck with your flight ever getting off the ground. It will be so late that the crew will time out and it will be cancelled. If the TSA is really looking for terrorists, what better place to look than the unsecured borders. Think its any coincidence that various muslim paraphenalia have been found with other debris that illegals leave in the Sonoran desert? Also profiling, which Nazipolitano and cohorts refuse to do would be another wise action. The pilot that posted this video seems to have his knickers in a twist because he had to go through security and some lowly gate agent didn’t. He would have done better to show the public why flight crews should have the same procedure.

TSA is the armed civilian force that Obama told us he would need. An armed civil force equal to the military. The TSA is Obama’s Gestapo. Something all dictators need.

Its amazing that it offends democrats to have voters show proof of who they are. They claim it violates and intimidates voters but they see no problem having us anal probed at the airports just to get on a friggin plane.

Voting is the essence of a free society and should be protected whereas free travel have been erased.

Having seen the fat slovenly low-lifes that inhabit the airports and I do know some of them, and the fact that illegals still roam every airport in the US working those jobs that Americans won’t do, I call BS on your dedicated work force that is checked by extensive background checks.

What a sad joke. Hell they just found out 30 or more were working at an Air Force base in Florida but not before most all had finished work and left. Background checks my ass!

I’d like to add I would feel safer flying if they simply took a McDonald’s crew and swapped with this $hit they have manning the airports now. At least burger flippers can achieve something useful. The same can’t be said of the airports.

What a slam on the Gestapo. The make work TSA airport employees are bodies to fill a space. When I see women wearing hijabs with their faces covered manning the scanners, I get nervous. What the heck are they thinking??

... which is precisely the method used by the 911 hijackers; they had cleanup crews smuggle box cutters onboard the aircraft. What has the government learned from this? Apparently nothing other than harassing the public and covering its own incompetence.

Big Sis and DHS, aka Inspector Clouseau and the Keystone Cops, are now morphing into jack booted thugs. What this pilot did was simply point out the farce of TSA airport security. However, like Obama, Big Sis, tolerates no criticism of her obvious incompetence.

Who are you talking about TSA? I am not TSA I was referring to airline personnel. As an employee of a major airline I call BS on your ignorant post. By the way I am neither fat nor slovenly and have been dedicated to my job for over 20 years...have a merry F’n holiday
