Fresh off their election defeat for foisting a health care bill they didn't read onto voters who didn't want it, Congressional Democrats are pushing repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" (DADT) on services that don't want it. This is a short-sighted attempt to bolster their base by delivering on a campaign promise based on the self-interest of a few while disregarding its impact on the whole of the military. Now we must demand Congress not force implementation prematurely and unwisely.
Despite being lauded as the right thing to do, repeal will struggle for legitimacy because the process was clouded in dishonesty. We were told the military wants repeal, even though the chiefs of the Army, Air Force, and Marines told the Senate Armed Services Committee they are against repeal during wartime, and the DADT survey, per Secretary Gates' testimony, deliberately did not ask servicemen if they supported repeal. Proponents assumed that because servicemen said they had no problem serving with a few they suspected were homosexuals, they would have no problem serving with many more who were openly homosexual.
In reality, almost sixty percent of Marines and nearly half of Army respondents predicted a potential negative impact. Those in combat units, where privacy could be an issue, were more likely to predict a negative impact than those with administrative or support duties. We are being told those who fight for us deserve respect but the warfighters are being ignored. What do they fear and what is being done to address these fears?
Secretary Gates and Admiral Mullen said they would not certify that the military is ready to implement the repeal before regulations and training are in place. If they can't be honest about what the survey indicates, how can we trust them to be honest about the military's readiness...

Once again, this is another example of trying to socially engineer the military into something it doesn’t need to be...
But what do I know about social engineering...
When the time comes, and this is going to hit like Sherman through Georgia on this whole matter...
They are going to have to force the Military in general to repeal or amend (however you want to put it), Article 125 of the UCMJ...Period to make their evil plan work...
I figure they’ll find some “flag” officer to champion the idea to support the liberal/progressive agenda on this even though there are more conservatives coming in to the next Congress...
But hey, what do I know...
There are always a few careerist pukes who will do the fake CiC’s bidding in order to feather their own nests.
When I hear PC officers like Gen. Casey talk about “diversity” it makes my blood boil!
And if I react that way, I can just imagine how the men on active duty must feel.
This will have unintended consequences! Watch the law suits and ruined careers from the complaints files by the fruitbats when this thing gets up an running.
The Pentagon obeyed the orders issued of their CINC The Pentagon study did what it was designed to do. the corrupt Democratic Party controlled House and Senate gave the undocumented President his Christmas gift. And the working group even suggested the Military NOT separate homosexuals from the normal troops -and neither will it create unisex barracks So the military can employ plausible deniability and pretend it is YET welcome to a Moral and Religious people when the leadership continues to bed with th e enemy.
I know-— “It don’t mean Nothin!”
It now allows a soldier to define himself as “gay” first. Can’t wait for the first time an openly gay troop is disciplined..he will claim that he’s being picked on because of his orientation..
Just wait until two gay guys go on liberty - one will be dressed as a woman!!!! Won’t that be a pretty sight!
I wonder if the old union “scab” treatment would work on fags?
Among the troops, I mean. The Big Chill. Freeze them out socially....give them the cold shoulder, treat them like non-entities. Make the military experience totally miserable for them without laying a hand on them or even insulting them verbally.
This will become another Obama “jobs saved or created” program.
Just think how many new military base housing units will need to be built as homes for homos, lezzies and their sex partners.
And consider how many lawyers will be employed filing lawsuits against the military on behalf of homos and lezzies who were discharged for their perversion while DADT was in force.
And think how many military and VA doctors and nurses will be kept employed over the years treating homos and their sweeties for AIDS and HIV.
Not to mention the big increase in demand for AIDS drugs.
Isn’t there a rumor afoot that “transgender” “rights” is the next item on the homosexual agenda?
There’s now scuttlebutt in the homosexual “community” NOT to join the military, now that they got the right to invade it unopposed. Of course, these are the same anti-American thugs that we saw in the 1960’s, so they hate the military with a passion. Like marriage, yhey just wanted the “right” to join so that they could discredit it.
They can volunteer for the 101st Bath-house Brigade.
“these are the same anti-American thugs that we saw in the 1960s”
You’d better believe it...if not the same ones, their students.
The leftist and antiwar movements in this country have been shot through with homosexuality since the beginning. Bill Ayers has told interviewers that straight Weather members were dragged into bisexual orgies to break down “bourgeois inhibitions.”
Leftism is a movement of, by, and for misfits of every type and especially homos.
All wight DADT repealers! Answer this question...how are we going to pay for those who get HIV and AIDS? Do we retire them and call it a “service-connected disability”?
“All wight DADT repealers! Answer this question...how are we going to pay for those who get HIV and AIDS? Do we retire them and call it a service-connected disability?”
If someone contracts HIV while in the service, it would indeed qualify as “service-connected”. In general, injuries/illnesses sustained while in service and participating in legal activities are service-connected. So if I would’ve destroyed my knee-joint snowboarding (which I almost did when I was a 1st Lt.), I would’ve been eligible for service-connected care since it happened while on active duty, on authorized liberty, while engaging in a permitted activity.
They specifically told us in our VA brief for outprocessing from active duty: “if you caught something incurable while serving, like herpes, your medications for it are covered by the VA if it was contracted during active service.”
“Just think how many new military base housing units will need to be built as homes for homos, lezzies and their sex partners.”
Well, since they can’t get married now, shouldn’t be an issue for the time being. And if they should ever be allowed to marry in the future, I don’t know that gays would be any more likely to get married and need housing than would straight servicemen. Probably less likely since there’s no societal pressure to get married, and there aren’t any of those “accidental” pregnancies which force a lot of troops to “do the right thing” and marry some trailer-park bimbo who “said she was on the pill.”
So pound-for-pound, gay troops almost definitely require _less_ married housing than straight troops; positively now since they can’t get married, and most likely even if they ever can.
