King County prosecutors have charged a Bellevue man with assault, alleging that a dog poo dispute between neighbors took a violent turn.
In charging documents, prosecutors contend Igor S. Kouzminykh, 46, threatened his neighbors with a pistol after their dog defecated on his lawn.
According to charging documents, Bellevue police were called to the home at 8:40 p.m. on Dec. 12 following a report that a man was pointing a gun at his neighbor. Officers arrived at the home, in the 14600 block of Northeast Third Street and found Kouzminykh on his lawn, Bellevue Police Officer Travess Forbush told the court.
Kouzminykh told police he'd been in an argument with his neighbors about their dog leaving its leavings on his lawn, Forbush said. He denied brandishing a pistol.
"I asked him about the report of a gun and he said he owns guns and his neighbors know it," the officer told the court. "He said he believes they are trying to frame him."
Police then contacted Kouzminykh's neighbors, who said they'd returned home to find dog feces smeared on their front door. They went to Kouzminykh's home to confront him about the issue but told police they fled after Kouzminykh drew a pistol.
According to charging documents, Kouzminykh met his neighbor's at the door to his home with the gun in hand. He pointed it at the couple, Forbush contended, and threatened to kill them.
The couple fled and yelled to a neighbor to call the police. Kouzminykh shut his door, then emerged to wait for police on his lawn.
Searching Kouzminykh's truck and home, police recovered two pistols, according to charging documents. He was arrested at the scene but has since been released.

Easier to confront people and ask that they remove the feces nicely. If they don’t, you can take a plastic bag, pick it up and take it back to their front step for them, where they won’t forget it.
After finding it on their front steps a few times, I’m sure they will start remembering to pick up after their dog or at least avoid your lawn.
I want CRIMINAL laws and I want them ENFORCED for filing false accusations.
I know a PBFH that would spend the rest of her sick life in prison. THAT would be justice.
One other thing. Never consent to a search of your residence or vehicle. Make the police get a warrant. In a case like this, because there was a gun, they would probably get one, but you never know. If you sell it as they were pounding on your door so you got your gun, they might not.
You don't know where the dog poo came from because you don't have a dog. How could you get dog poo when dog owners are required to pick up their dog poo.
That's not hard to believe.
