Washington (CNN) -- When President Obama signed the bill repealing the so-called "don't ask, don't tell" policy, it did not immediately end the military's 17-year ban on gays serving openly.
In fact, it will take a series of actions to make that happen, and no one at the Pentagon seems to know when the actual end date might be.

“In fact, it will take a series of actions to make that happen”
Of course it will. It will take an aggressive quota system. Did anyone not see this coming?
Wouldn’t it be great if they just gave homosexuals a faux victory just to shut them up for a while, and then never actually implement the repeal? Bureaucratic delays are a dime a dozen and in great abundance always and forever.
Not sure how accurate this is but the consensus at work is that since DADT was revoke and the new rules are not in place, military commands could clean house of suspected gays if they wish. This basically is what the pre-DADT stance on gays in the military.
Remember when DADT was applauded for being good to gays in the military. Now it is considered bad law.
Who wants to be a rear admiral?
“”It’s like Y2K. Everyone is making such a big deal out of it, but the next day ... everyone’s going to be like, oh, this wasn’t a big deal at all,” “Smith” said.”
It’s more like having termites.
Riddle me this:
Why aren’t conservatives demanding a repeal of the repeal?
As soon as socialized medicine passed Congress, a great hue and cry went up among conservatives. The Wall Street Journal editorial page has been particularly loud and vociferous. Let’s repeal this monstrosity! Let’s sue because the health insurance mandate is unconstitutional!
But few conservatives are talking repealing the repeal of DADT. Restoring DADT — difficult as it may be — would probably be easier than getting rid of the health care monstrosity with all its free-lunch, free-health care freebies.
Why can’t we at least try to restore DADT?
Our troops on the front line will be in danger with the roll back of DADT. The Marines clearly warned us about the dangers of repeal in the Pentagon survey and the Marine Corps Commandant told Congress about the danger as well. Huge amounts of distrust, anger and sexual tension will be created by cramming together men and women, excuse me, open homosexuals, into foxholes and showers and barracks together. Men and women, excuse me, open homosexuals, should not be crammed together and destroy military cohesiveness.
Why do we have to roll over and let this happen? Why aren’t more conservative Republicans demanding a repeal of the repeal?
Conservatives don’t want to repeal the repeal because they’re afraid of looking like they’re intolerant and bigotted, as the libs claim they are. In fact, there’s so much more to this issue. I don’t know anyone who hates gay men and women because of their sexual orientation. Many of us disagree with them but don’t hate them or wish them ill. But repealing DADT is simply reckless and foolish and unnecessary.
Of course the left is portraying everyone who opposes the repeal as hate-filled and mean - and you know so many Americans are buying into that.
I don’t think Conservatives ever learned how to manage the message, and now, with the new FCC ruling it’s probably too late for that anyway.
You are quite correct. The standards of the Bible have fallen by the wayside. The new standard by which we are now judged is our level of bigotry. A standard defined by the liberals, of course.
With decadence, there will be hell to pay. You have the collapse of military cohesion on the front lines and the decay of the family at home.
Thank you, President Obama.
Sounds good to me. We’ve got to push back before the forces of political correctness sink their claws too deeply into our military — as with health care and just about everywhere else in our creeping socialist society.
I have questions for the lurkers and posters here. Who else saw the O-Zero presser yesterday, given in front of a very large crowd of supposedly homosexual and lesbian U.S. military veterans?
Question #1 - How was this large, very specialized group assembled so quickly ONE DAY after the vote in the Senate? (1.a.) Doesn’t this kind of event and assemblage in the White House require extensive advance planning, even several months?
Question #2 - Could it be they were not all genuine veterans or even genuine homosexuals, but playing the part as seat-fillers? Who is to say they were not?
Question #3 - Thoughts?
This bunch does nothing but lies,, so you may be right, they did hand out doctor whites for that one presser. You are on to something I am thinking also!
