Richard Haass, president of the Council on Foreign Relations, has written in the Wall Street Journal that we should un-surge in Afghanistan. While arguing against total withdrawal, he says the U.S. effort there should be sharply reduced. Mr. Haasss recommendation on Afghanistan sounds similar to his (flawed) recommendation on Iraq during the debate about the surge. In a November 13, 2006, interview with Der Spiegel, Haass said: We've reached a point in Iraq where we've got to get real.

The surge worked, but what’s the point if Obama just throws the results away. Maliki is still PM despite coming in second place in the elections, and the Christians of Iraq are being massacred. Obama seems to care less if Iraq becomes an Iranian satellite. With that in mind, why should he care about Afghanistan?
$700 M was spent in 2008 with lots of Saudi money to buy the white hut. Are troops are being pawned and killed to amuse the Saudi king and islam. Turn off the Tv and open your eyes folks.
Our troops get killed so the Saudi royals can sleep well at night as they spew their propaganda crap on (Saudi)American TV. The Saudi king’s boy is destroying the US military with the help of the American people.
When we withdraw from Iraq it we will have achieved “peace with honor.” Iraq will be a Democratic Republic that will tolerate the cultural, religious and geopolitical differences of its people. And that will last for at least a day or two.
