Didn’t some people in the City of Angels get upset about a cross that was visible from public property?

I remember the issue was that there was a cross (heaven forfend!) on the official “Seal of the City” for Los Angles (literally “the Angels”).

I don't think anybody is going to try to say that was Los Angeles establishment of religion - or that because of that tiny detail in the “official” symbol - that Christianity is the preferred religion of Angelinos.

It was there for HISTORIC reasons! The city was started as a Catholic mission IIRC.
