I’ve never met a barking Golden that wants to do anything other than sniff you, then lick you unless you were hurting a family member.
I would be devastated if our Golden was killed by some idiot cop in his own yard. She would do exactly what this dog did, bark and run towards them announcing to the world someone strange was in her yard.
This cop needs to be cleaning puke out of the drunk tank for the rest of his career IMHO.
99.9% of dogs, regardless of breed, _bark at strangers_ approaching their home.
That was one of the prime motivations of domesticating dogs, in the first place.
I find it incomprehensible that anyone who has to pass so many tests to qualify for law enforcement is unaware of that extremely common knowledge.
