I was raised in a family full of LEOs. In a mere 49 years, I’ve developed a healthy suspicion of them, some of it based on personal observation, a bit of based on personal experience.
I keep telling people, unless your being attacked by hordes of AIDs infected cannibals, DO NOT CALL THE COPS.
Leave the cop calling to the shut-ins and old ladies that need babysitting.
