Agreed. Once you get past the slavery issue, the South had it right. States ARE more important than the Fedgove. The slavery thing was really bad and it should have been banned at the signing of our constitution in 1789. We need to separate the states rights issue from the slavery issue. Slavery was immoral and a true scar on the American Experiment. But... the slaves are long since freed but the oppression of the Fedgov lives on. We need to hear the South, unfettered by the slavery issue.

Slavery was immoral and a true scar on the American Experiment. The strange part, many of the Northerners fighting in the Civil War owned slaves too. For example, in the years prior to the war, Grant didn't have a problem with slavery and Lee was growing to oppose it.
