Aha!!! So, the present tense of a this would of course be a "cattle drive"!!!
In today's modern world, when one attends one of these things, but uses a Jeep instead of a horse, one could say, "I drove over to the cattle drive, drove the cattle and my jeep; then when we reached Wichitah, I stopped driving the jeep and the cattle because I'd done drove the whole route and completed the drove!"
Or words to that effect!
Liberals = cattle!
