Former Sarah Palin colleague says she has multiple flaws
Daily Telegraph ^ | December 19, 2010 | Alex Spillius

Posted on 12/20/2010 6:03:00 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

"The more people try to take her out, she only becomes emboldened, strengthened, it makes her such a martyr," said Mrs Wallace, who has recently written a thriller called Eighteen Acres, drawn in part from her experiences on the bid for the White House of John McCain and Mrs Palin, his running mate.

"She has very obvious deficiencies that will reveal themselves as the nominating contest gets closer," she told The Daily Telegraph, adding: "Let her shoot her moose or whatever the heck she does on her [television] show, it will all work out."

...... "What's troubling is she has missed an opportunity to go beyond the platitudes and deepen her knowledge," said Mrs Wallace, who was formerly communications director in the George W Bush administration. "It's incredibly cynical to think you can win an election without having a thoughtful intellectual discussion with the country, thinking you can just scare people into voting for you."

Mrs Wallace's remarks follow similar reservations voiced by senior Republicans and figureheads of the Right including Barbara Bush, former First Lady, and Karl Rove, the leading strategist in the George W Bush administration.

Well you at least got part of it right. If you had done a bit more research you would have found out that not only was I not against her as the republican nominee for Governor I was a ardent supporter and contributor in time and money for her campaign. I just don’t think she is what she is hyped up to be and the fanatical adoration of her on FR is over the top. I actually like Sarah but she will be easy to deconstruct in the next presidential campaign. First and foremost we have to get a republican president and I don’t care if that hurts feelings for the Sarah fanatics. We can find common ground about Rove however.

You have always preferred Murkowski to Palin. You have been attacking Palin for five years on FR, defending her enemies, and attacking her since at least 2005.

You didn't even want Palin to run for Governor in the first place. In 2005 you were already posting this stuff of candidate Palin as a "tool of the socialists"

To: William Creel
Saint Sarah is the democrats great hope to divide the republican party.
If she is successfull she will put in office another Tony Knowles democrat by pitting conservatives against each other just the way Knowles did.
I used to think she had a great future but now she looks like just another tool of the socialists in this state to divide and conquer. She has already shown a willingness to cater to the democrats just like Mcain to get her pretty face on the news.

Palin became the most popular Governor in Alaskan history, and probably American history.

You really don’t have a clue. I’m tired of disclaimers but I’ll play one more time. I sent a lot of bucks to Joe Miller to see him send murky packing. Since you like to research my comments on FR see if you can find numerous posts to that effect. I am sorry about the comment on her appearance. That was in bad taste.

I didn’t say anything about Miller in 2010.

In 2005, you were beating up on Palin in the Governor’s race for your man Murkowski, the man who was the candidate for you, and who you voted for in the primary. You despise Palin.

In 2005 SP would not make a commitment to support the repub nominee for Governor whoever he or she was. I was at the convention as a delegate, I remember it well. Had she not been won the primary it was likely she would have been the spoiler for the opposition. I did beat up on her for that and I stand by my convictions. When she won the nomination I stood head and shoulders behind her to defeat the dems. Voting for a murkowski (both) is usually the lesser of two evils situation. It was in 2005 and it was when Lease A Murkowski ran against Tony Knowles for senator. However when an authentic conservative runs against them I go for the conservative. I don’t think SP is the one to beat the kenyan, sorry but we will never agree on that. However I will get behind her just like I did in the Governors race if she is elected to run against him

Like I said, you despise Palin and have been hammering her here since at least 2005, and you supported Murkowski over her, although in the past you have denied that to other freepers.

You were against Palin at that convention, and are against her still. That time, the guy you thought was the winner was the incumbent Governor that came in third because Palin kicked his tail, even though you described her as having no chance, and her candidacy as only being useful to Democrats.

“Saint Sarah is the democrats great hope to divide the republican party. If she is successfull she will put in office another Tony Knowles democrat by pitting conservatives against each other just the way Knowles did. I used to think she had a great future but now she looks like just another tool of the socialists in this state to divide and conquer.”

You are not the guy to be choosing our candidate for 2012.

Nichole Wallace was a colleague? I thought she was a hired gun, a political prostitute, a backstabbing flunky.

‘Nicolle Wallace? Is she still alive?????’

Actually Robert Goren’s mentor cut out her heart and mailed it to Goren and Eames a few years back, on “Law and order: Criminal Intent”.

I like “Obamalamadingdong”. That’s going to be my new nickname for him.

Kinda rolls off the tongue, doesn't it? And, it fits him so well!

That was a good episode. I miss “Nicole” - she was an interesting character.

If she has a hard time dealing with attacks in Alaska, how can she deal with the attacks that would come in a campaign?

She was spending all of her time dealing with bogus legal attacks on her administration. Were there any prosecutions? Any?

Have you ever seen this happen to another governor? Ever heard of this happening for any other losing vice presidential candidate? This was something new. This visceral foaming at the mouth madness unleashed upon Sarah Palin by Democratic operatives. You seem to think it was no big deal.

Was it you I asked if you would be willing to cough up 1/2 a million dollars so you could continue to serve in your elected position? Did you answer? That was 1/2 of a million in legal fees and she had two years left to serve.

Leaving the governors office untied her hands and allowed her to fight back. She makes liberals have very bad dreams at night and causes some of them to wet their pants in fear. I like that in a candidate.

Fighting back in a campaign and fighting back as an elected governor with state supplied representation are two different things.

Since she resigned the elected position, do you think she has not fought back ferociously enough?

I am merely expressing a concern. She was elected governor of Alaska. That’s a great thing. But she only served two years in office and then resigned. I do not begrudge her desire to make money, avoid burdensome investigations or become a media figure. I merely question whether she has the experience to be President. We can see the consequence of electing a junior senator with a few years experience as POTUS. I merely question whether a governor of a large state with only two years experience is prepared to be POTUS.

We could always go for Mitt Romney, John McCain or Huckabee. They have the experience you seek.

I’m not necessarily looking for someone with experience as though that in itself qualified someone for POTUS. On the other hand, experience counts for something. And no, I do not support those candidates either.

"I’m not necessarily looking for someone with experience as though that in itself qualified someone for POTUS.

"But she only served two years in office and then resigned.

Which is it?

15 years of government service at City and State level. If you doubt serving on a city counsel and serving as a mayor and then two years as a governor with many accomplishments qualifies one for being the president, you should try it some time.
