The Republicans should offer this version of the DREAM Act.

After undergoing a thorough background check, an Undocumented Alien who serves in the United States Military for at least four years and receives an Honorable Discharge, will receive Legal Residency and the opportunity to become a United States Citizen one year after their discharge.

No sponsorship of relatives, no previous criminal background, no other “benefits”.

Just throwing this out there for my fellow FReepers to chew on. This way the Republicans show their willingness to “compromise”. The Left would go nuts. LOL

Make it 8 years plus a four year waiting period. American Citizenship should be worth something and not just a giveaway.
