I do know the honorable history of the word “Amnesty.” Think about this, everybody who thinks that THE LAW MUST BE UPHELD MERCY BE DAMNED:....

I seem to recall an incident, o, about a hundred fifty years ago, where we granted AMNESTY to millions of men who committed treason against the Constitution by openly taking up arms against it and trying to declare it null and void, all to keep black men in chains.

And after the war, with malice toward none, we didn’t hang any of them (Henry Wirtz excepted) and let them all back with an... ahem.... amnesty.

And their crime was FAR more serious than getting a job at 7/11 as a stockboy. Ahem.

I should add that if you are descended from any of those men, perhaps you owe your very existence to the fact that we didn’t do to Southern rebbels what some here want to do to the eeeeleguls.....Perhaps you owe your life to an Amnesty. Ever think of that?

And if they did, they would never give us amnesty.

And the guys who got amnesty 150 years ago, as I recall the history, had to take an oath of allegiance to the US as a condition of that amnesty.
