The only thing I worry about, regarding attacks, is the FCC and the regulations they are making or those they might impose.

It's not the FCC I'm worried about. That's a threat to freerepublic.com as it is, and can be dealt with.

I'm worried about the much more restrictive control that the FEC and the IRS will try to extend to freerepublic.com due to a tight connection with FRPAC.

And if you "brickwall" the connection and control between the two, then we might as well just support an existing PAC and be the "logging and tracking and research arm" of an already successful conservative PAC.

I disagree.

An FRPAC would carry lots of weight since the political world knows that we say what we mean and mean what we say and if necessary we take no prisoners. Tell me what pac does that. FR strikes fear into the hearts of both the left and the right, nothing wrong with that.

"I'm worried about the much more restrictive control that the FEC {FCC and the IRS..."

Sam, a Federal judge already told them they (FCC) couldn't do what they wanted to do, so this thing is going nowhere - it will be opposed all the way to the Supreme Court, and by additional legislation.

Yeah, I know - it's another battle, but this one is still in progress, and it sure isn't lost yet... and I think Jim is right - we need a meaner, leaner, more effective PAC than any of the current ones that don't seem to combat the RINO's like they should... and WE CAN DO JUST THAT.

"I’m all for fighting, but who do you fight with? Our (so called) team caves at every turn."

Our most esteemed DoughtyOne... we have to stop trying to fight with 'our team' in D.C. Sadly, we can't hit 'em nearly hard enough. No matter how much we write, call, or try to defeat them while they sit in Congress - they're nearly impervious to all that we currently do.

BUT - if we work from the bottom UP, we can begin to run them out of office with better candidates - and prior to that, a much louder voice coming from within the states!

Sadly, we have too long ignored who sits at the top of our County and State party structure. Hell - 90 percent of FReepers have never attended a singly one of that most-populous part of this nation's 'conservative party' - much less tried to replace them with 'one of our own.'

I think we (FREEPERS) can do that - and with enough vigor to swivel and snap the heads of the national structure in such a way that they can no longer afford to ignore us.

But - we can't do it half heartedly - we have to put together an assault with one-hundred percent hard-core conservatism that refuses to even contemplate giving an inch to placate, or accomodate 'moderates' in the party.

We have to find, educate, then promote replacements for every RINO in sight - from the most populous bottom structure of the party FIRST. That is how you scare the hell out of the RINO's at the top, and make them START to listen.
