Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said that the Tea Party needs to commit to being problem-solvers in the new Congress.
On "Face the Nation," Graham was asked about the prospects for bipartisanship come January.
"The House is in revolt," he said of the difficulty of extending the Bush-era tax cuts. "People are pissed off in the House at the estate tax. That's going to carry over a bit."
Graham said that big government and spending is on the "run and retreat," but that the coming months will test the grass-roots movement that helped turn the tide in the midterm election.
"The Tea Party will turn on the Republicans as well as the Democrats, but it's going to be a test of the Tea Party," he said.
"They come up here in large numbers and bring a new energy. I applaud what they did, but they've got to help us solve problems."
Graham said he was hopeful that the debt commission is a starting point, from tax reform to considering changes in Social Security and Medicare.
"We're so far in debt we're never going to get out of it unless we look at each other around this table and say it is time to sacrifice," he said.
I hope the Tea Parties here in South Carolina will step up and start making some noise on Graham ... he is no longer credible ... time for an all out political war on him.
List of corrupt politicians in Washington whom I have no use for:
1. Obama
2. Reid
3. Pelosi
4. Graham
5. McCain
Enough said for now.
Lindsey, you miserable, ignorant, self-serving, pathetic little weasel. When will you bastards get it: WE didn't create this problem - you did.
Stop getting indignant with us because we don't want to pay the bills you SOB's have run up.
GAAAAAAAAAAACK! These cretins make me mad!
as God is my witness, I'll never vote conservative again!!
LMAO!
There's the door. Use it.
Problem solved.
The Libs and RINO's will always make it sound impossible to fix the debt problem. It was created in large part simply enough: the STUPID STIMULUS which should have been a tax cut.
You start by CUTTING TAXES. Then you CUT GOVERNMENT SPENDING big time. Do what Reagan did. He had Carter to deal with we have Obama. What Reagan said in 1980 is as appropriate now as ever:
Mr Reagan: "Well. most people, when they think about cutting Government spending, they think in terms of eliminating necessary programs or wiping out something, some service that Government is supposed to perform. I believe that there is enough extravagance and fat in government. As a matter of fact, one of the secretaries of HEW under Mr. Carter testified that he thought there was $7 billion worth of fraud and waste in welfare and in the medical programs associated with it. We've had the Central Accounting. Office estimate that there is probably tens of billions of dollars that is lost in fraud alone, and they have added that waste adds even more to that. We have a program for a gradual reduction of Government spending based on these theories, and I have a task force now that has been working on where those cuts could be made. I'm confident that it can be done and that it will reduce inflation because I did it in California. And inflation went down below the national average in California when we returned the money to the people and reduced Government spending."

Exactly!
Gramnesty - your head’s already up the Obamaloon’s Obama, so why hot crawl the rest of the way in and stay there?
Yes, Tea Partiers have a problem.
They’re not going to go along with hard work we do of raising taxes and taking freedom.
Maybe they should just stay home.

Translation: They've got to compromise with the Democrats, like the rest of us.
B U M P
Most of the problems are easy to solve: reduce government spending by reducing the size of the government.
Why on Earth is 66 still the age for Social Security retirement? Even the recent commission would only adjust that age slightly. Make it 70 or older for anyone who is 55 or younger.
Why on Earth is 65 the age for Medicare? Make it 70 or older for anyone who is 64 or younger.
Get rid of Head Start and most other federal spending for education.
Defund Planned Parenthood, Obamacare, all public broadcasting, the United Nations, and a ton of other crap.
End all special exemptions for Congress and its staffers.
End all welfare expenditures for illegal immigrants (food stamps, emergency room services, and whatever else)
And those are just a few of the appetizers.
Damn! I hate the federal government.
We aren’t done cleaning house yet, Lindsey. We can start solving problems once you are primaried back to wherever it is you came frim.
I CAN’T stand this POOFER.
What is your problem South Carolina?
I agree. That's why we're running people like you, Lindsey!
Please draw Graham a picture of conservative solutions...
Easy. Cut funding 50% for all Federal BS. Then 50% a year thereafter.
No not really. Your are part of the problem and you need to go Graham.
