I’ve felt for the longest time that weakening the military was the secret goal of all this. (The gays argue that DADT was “discriminatory”... but there was nothing preventing them from serving.). It’s not simply that many radical, Sixties-type Libs hate the US- they also want a weakened military so they can cut defense spending. (The latter reason is also why I think Ron Paul voted for this in the House)
Everything they do is about weakening-no, destroying-America, and this is the latest victory in that effort. The infuriating thing is that this decadent American culture is shrugging its shoulders while it happens, assuming most even notice.
The Left in every country in every time fears the military and takes what steps are available to it to neutralize the military. The Left then tries to replace the military with organizations that have no traditional structure and are not loyal to the nation but rather to the Left faction and to its leaders. The traditional military cannot be trusted to perform whatever internal national suppression is deemed necessary and the Left always has a fear(irrational in the US but not elsewhere) that the traditional military will not abide them and will turn on them.
