The bad news is that DADT made it through.

DADT or something similar can easily be changed/fixed/reimplemented.

DREAM act, however, would be far more difficult and problematic to attempt to fix. I’m ok w/ no permanent damage - so far. We still have START to stop.

The Nightmare cloture vote was huge. I’m very disappointed about DADT if the actual votes mirrors the cloture vote.

Senate Republicans blocked a measure Saturday that would have offered provisional legal status to some adults who came to America illegally as children.

HOW MANY DEMOCRATS VOTED NO???? Pure propaganda BS from MSNBC the Imitation News Network...

Republican Sens. Richard Lugar, Lisa Murkowski, and Robert Bennett voted for it.

Way to go you who place a vote just because of an "R" after the name!

Well, at least one of these liberal hacks won't be back I do believe.

The DREAM is dead. This is such freaking good news, because there was so much more included in the bill that the media wasn’t talking about. It sounded like such a “compassionate” bill but when you get into the details you realize how far reaching/extreme it really is.

Republican Sens. Richard Lugar, Lisa Murkowski, and Robert Bennett voted for it.

At least they have R's after their names and they can win elections. That's what's most important. /Establishmentarian

Does anyone know how Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill voted on the Dream Act?

I've sent my snotty-gram to Lugar. If anyone else is interested:

http://lugar.senate.gov/contact/contactform.cfm

Mot likely it won't matter. I suspect this turd is going to retire. He's not inline at all with the general public in Indiana; his votes seem to indicate he doesn't plan on answering for it later. I'm more than a little irritated with that puke right now.

The Good Lord continues to watch over our country.

I hope DADT will eventually fail. I’m concerned enlisted folks will be quitting in droves. I would.

I assume this means it’s dead and nothing will be done in the next few days or the next congress, as the GOP won’t be initiating any “dream act”.

I guess it doesn’t surprise anyone that the MSM coverage refused to mention the part of the act that would allow these “new citizens” to sponsor their family members. So letting in this suppose 1 - 2 million is really closer to 8 - 10 million of more - mommy, daddy, brothers, sisters, granny and grampa. Every illegal kid in the country old enough for college or the military would enroll so the rest of the family would have a path to citizenship and a right to stay in the country for as long as that took. All the have to do is get a government grant and go to college for two years. They wouldn’t even have to graduate. What a joke. It’s clear if was a backdoor way for amnesty for at least 6-8 million illegals here now.

The MSM continues as the greatest threat to the America of our forefathers, as it uses it’s power day after day to brainwash and program America. Listen to people speaking if they even bother to talk about politics, they regurgitate what they hear on CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC,MSNBC.

It’s all so freaking sad that people listen to the crap the MSM spews and accept it, make decisions based on it and spread it to other people.

It’s not over yet.

Obama has put ICE on ice. Deportations will be gutted by executive or DOJ/DHS fiats.

DOJ will continue to harrass states that enforce immigration laws.

Obama and DHS, much like the EPA & FCC, will change the law via changes in department regulations and standards. Not to mention states which try to have their own mini-versions of the Dream Act.

Congress must still be vigilant....WE MUST STILL BE VIGILANT.

THE BATTLE FOR DUNE CONTINUES....

It's AMAZING a homosexual is responsible for the wikileaks disaster- doing it because he was angry with the military- and we're basically giving him what he wanted.

Frightening!

Given that DADT will weaken the military that the Feds may send against us one day; given that the military has not been used effectively or for legitimate defense purposes (IMO - flame away!) for over a half century; given that fewer straight men and more gay men will now die in our overseas follies; given that the DREAM nightmare would have made reversal of any of the Marxist, anti-American crap we now face an impossibility over time: I am much in favor, if only one could pass, that it be DADT, not the nightmare.

Let the transvestites and transexuals join the women in running our ships, flying our planes, and conducting our ground ops with bizarre ROEs for a while. This will get reversed one day when the folly of it becomes apparent. The DREAM act would have caused irreparable harm.

Still, any RINOs who supported this nonsense should have short careers, as should all the Dems.
