A pair of blustery, soaking storms will stream into Northern California beginning Friday, bringing as much as 10 inches of rain south and east of the Bay Area by Christmas Day and setting up potentially difficult travel conditions for those escaping for the holidays.
Though computer weather models differ on the exact trajectory and strength of the two separate weather systems, meteorologists are bracing for sizable amounts of rain and the possibility that some rivers might overrun their banks.
"No matter how you slice it, it's going to be a significant weather event," said Rob Hartman, lead hydrologist with the National Weather Service's California-Nevada River Forecast Center. "If it comes in heavy and warm, it will be a bigger flood event. But the real wild card is the freezing level."

Yes, we are expecting below zero temps Thursday and Friday. Got to put the snow tars on the #77 Peak Antifreeze Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR. Only 3.5 seconds 0-60 so difficulty merging with trsaffic at rush hour. Got to get more HP!
A FRiend took me for a ride in his 2010 Cad CTS V this summer but he only got it up to about 80, on a side street. 562 HP supercharged Vette engine. I bought his 1990 SS454 CPU about a year ago and just sold it to my son. I don’t think any of them would be worth a nickel in a blizzard..
I have seen TV ads for the Caddy CTS V. Looks impressive!
The blast you’re getting now dropped over 1 1/4 inches here , most of it late,, windier than heck now..

Depending on which lying corrupt rain gauge I read this morning we had either 1.9” or 2.2” of rain between 6am yesterday and 6am this morning. These two evil gauges are within 6” of each other and are identical in looks and manufacture. My grandson gave us one of those wireless weather stations from Costco so I will soon have 3 lying corrupt gauges.
Snow level down to 1,000’ which is just 879’ about the Bender Estate...
Moderate rain during the night and early morning...no wind here...just now easing up.
I just talked to one of my sister’s grand daughters near FResno and she said the rain gauge shows 4.5” of rain. I didn’t ask how many days but that has to be more than their YEARLY average...
The low here on Thursday is supposed to be below zero. Not 0bama, the other zero.
Hey we got the rain you sent! Started early this morning and had a couple of good showers during the day, now the sun is out.
Was about to get a bit touchy going into the 1st with everything so dry.
I had a eMail from a FRiend in Colorado. She said it is snowing and blowing like never before and her husband was just staring at the window. She couldn’t take it any more so she let him in...
Is it true that Texans use the dry oil well in the back yard for a rain gauge?
Now that’s a good one!
Can’t use old wells for rain gauges anymore, seems the EPA just doesn’t like anything we do here.
