Did they poll the REMFs or the guys on the front lines?
(the ones that actually fight the wars and win the Medal of Honor)
Since there are far more REMFs than grunts, it would seem results would be slanted toward favor of passing DADT.
I read an analysis of the poll (sorry, I don’t recall where) that contended that it was constructed with approval in mind and also brought up this fact about the disparate numbers of REMF’s vs. “In country” soldiers.
I admit that it may just be my wanting it to be correct that drives my bias, but I do believe this to be the case - members of the military administration skewed the poll in order to obtain the cover that they needed to effect this change in policy.
