I get why Brown jumped ship - he does, after all represent perhaps the most socially liberal state in the Union. But Toomey represents a fairly othodox conservative state, at least on the social issues. I don't think that there's nearly the clamor in PA as there clearly is in MA to repeal DADT. Plus, Toomey just got elected, and Brown is up for reelection in less than 24-mos. Toomey couldn't keep his yap shut?
When I first read this, I forgot that he can’t even vote until January. Why is there a need to even say this? Before today, I would have been blasted to he!! for saying this, but I believe that he is a little light in the loafers and I am serious. He definitely doesn’t seem 100 percent hetro for sure. I did vote for him of course because of his conservative views or what I thought were conservative views.
Two words on why Toomey probably became a DADT supporter.

The Representatives in the House are elected to represent their constituencies. It is my understanding that the Senate is a deliberative body in the interests of the entire country. They are not sent per population. I.E., there is no excuse for making the wrong choice here.
