the US military is clearly not the honorable institution it once was.

You seem to be on the wrong forum.

The military has never looked kindly on those members who volunteered for service and then tried to weasel out of a deployment and most certainly has never looked kindly on officers who pick and choose what orders they will obey and what orders they will not. I can't imagine anyone who has ever served would have difficulty understanding this.

I realize people are upset that Lakin's political stunt, as predicted by those who know what they're talking about, did not have the outcome that others naively hoped for, but to conclude that this outcome diminishes the honor of our military is disgraceful.

Like too many, you have missed the point. Those in our military have taken an oath to DEFEND OUR CONSTITUTION. OUR CONGRESS did not and has not yet done it’s job to vet OBOZO and with all the money he has spent to hide his past and has yet to produce his real bc, he obviously has something to hide. What? Since the congress missed it and is now complicit in this mess our military should be first in demanding to verify Obozos eligibility to serve as president. Look at the rules of engagement he has instituted on our troops, the top brass are complying and an increase of troop injury and death is the result. Our military is next to the last bastion of preserving our freedom and they need to adhere to their oath to defend our constitution and they aren’t doing it. The dishonor is on those who fail to uphold their oath and follow BLINDLY. Lt Col Lakin took a stand on this issue and for that he demonstrated that he takes his oath seriously. That, in my mind is worthy of honorable man.
