My dad, who was a WWII combat veteran, said that there were some homosexuals who entered basic training but that they washed out because they simply could not hack it. If there were some who did stick with it did not hit on hardened combat veterans if they wanted to survive. He said that he did not know of any who stuck with it. As has been pointed out many times, they ARE serving. The whole “I must tell you I’m gay and you have to like it” thing is to undermine morale, nothing more.
