Brendan Daly, the chief spokesman for Speaker Nancy Pelosi and a close adviser to her since she joined the Democratic leadership in 2002, is leaving his Capitol Hill post to join a Washington public relations firm.
A former newspaper reporter, Mr. Daly was known for his ability to reflect the speakers thinking and strategy for the House and he was a strong defender of her legislative approach and the partys priorities.
Brendan has been an essential part of my team for nearly a decade, and his leadership, hard work, and dedication have been essential to the progress we have made on behalf of the American people, Ms. Pelosi said on Tuesday in announcing his departure. Brendan is respected on the Hill among members and the press as a skilled communicator, a dedicated public servant, and a trusted adviser.
Mr. Daly will be joining the firm of Ogilvy Washington as an executive vice president and national director for public affairs. His move is part of an exodus of sorts as top Democratic aides exit Capitol Hill in the aftermath of election losses that cost the party control of the House. Ms. Pelosi, soon to be the minority leader, will have a smaller staff moving forward.

Time for Daly to go make some big bucks. Thanks Nancy.
I wouldn't trust him around my other employees.
He must be certifiably nuts if he’s been with her that long.
He probably got tired of polishing that HUGE gavel Nasty Pelosi carries around everywhere she goes.
PR the scrooge of our time.
That's just creepy, I don't care who you are.
maybe Pelosi will get a clue and retire herself? wishful thinking, i know.
