You may get down on your knees tonight and pray God that the United States military never does what you suggest they ought to do, rise up in rebellion to the government of the United States. They have resisted all previous temptations and God save, they will forever do. Even in our darkest hour, at the beginning of the Civil War, the military did not desert her government. Officers resigned their commissions and peaceably left federal service to return to the state of their birth, but they did not stand against their government while still wearing its uniform. No Regiment of the United States Army joined the rebellion, they were loyal to United States and remained so.
The military views with considerable disdain political “statements” of the Lakin sort and have used the power of the UCMJ to rail against it. They have been consistently supported in their actions by the civilian courts of the United States. Again, thank God.
I’m not advocating for the military to rise up in rebellion of the government. What I’m saying is that the powers that be have created a conundrum of such inescapable qualities that we are seeing the results of this vaccuum.
Unfortunately, no citizen has standing to question the King. Lakin has made a decision to make a political statement, correct. The military doesn’t like it, and I wouldn’t like it either but for the fact that the eventual dissolution of America and her Constitution appears to be the other choice.
Rock and a hard place. Either we are a nation of laws worth defending, or we are not.

I’ll bet Honduras wouldn’t agree with you and if they did, they would now be another Venezuela or Cuba.
All well and good, but what cannot be predicted is
the fallout and the unintended consequences in the
eyes of the public and others in govt of a career MD/Lt.
Colonel choosing this path out of courage of his
convictions, taking the jail time and his medicine.
That story won’t go away.
The truth will come out .. it always does eventually.
