We play the “how long can you go before turning on the heat game” every fall. Heat doesn’t go on until the house gets below 64°. Same for Spring. I assume your air conditioning bills may be a wee bit more than here too ;o)

Jeeze this incest stuff is sick but what I’ve argued for years. Hasn’t the left heard of abortion? /s

Most houses have air conditioners and they really run up the Electric bill ,but, I haven't run mine for several years now as houses here also have a ceiling fan in just about every room and they pull hardly any juice at all. Temperatures here run 80 to 83 in the winter and 80 to 86 in the summer. Ceiling fans are all one needs for those temperatures. Gas right now is around $3.86, but again, can't drive to Honolulu or Hilo. Maui is only 50 miles long and about 20 miles wide. A tank of gas lasts me about a month.

Forgot to mention also the advantages of the wardrobe. Right now I am wearing a pair of shorts, a light cotton shirt and flip flops. This is standard wear all year long. No summer vs. winter wardrobes. Slip on my Aloha shirt and I can attend a wedding or a funeral. No black suits , matter of fact, I haven’t even owned or needed a suit since I moved here in 1969. Hardly any houses here except at the higher elevations even have a central heating system. And to top this off, I live one block from the sandy , palm tree laden beach with the blue Pacific’s water temperature is around 70 degrees year round. Am I bragging and happy? Ya betcha.
