But longtime Washington lobbyist Angela Sailor, 42, and her political consultant husband, Elroy, 41, did vote in the 2008 Virginia Democratic presidential primary, according to Prince William County election records.

So a new and recent GOP hire voted 2 years ago in the Democrat primary???? Come ON. Do we VETT anyone?

I know that when my friend volunteered to make phone calls for the local Republican party, they wanted to see their voter registration card to make SURE they were Republican...and that was for LOCAL stuff--you'd think the national party would have a little more brain power.

And no bench--I mean, are there NO hungry workers in the lower echelons of the party? Why not hire some graduating college Republicans with marketing degrees??? I dunno...this seems like a REAL boneheaded move.

Not defending them or anything, we need mor information, but we should remember that there were a lot of republicans who voted in the 2008 Virginia democratic presidential primary, as part of Operation Chaos.

The republican race was over by then. And Virginia has no registration by party, so you can vote in either primary. You just show up and tell them which one you want to vote in.

Prince William has an active Republican committee, so I wonder if she was a member.
