Over the course of the past few decades, entertainment produced in Hollywood, news commentary written by feminized journalists, and propaganda spread by political action groups focused on protecting the environment have dealt a near death blow to masculinity via their all out demonization of guns, hunting, and manliness in general. And over the course of the past few weeks, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has single-handedly used her television show (Sarah Palins Alaska) to reverse this trend and restore manliness to its rightful place once again.
She did this first by clubbing a halibut to death after catching it in Alaskan waters, and secondly by shooting and field-dressing a caribou on a more recent episode.
Along the way, Hollywood elites, news outlets, and groups like PETA have literally come unhinged. Aaron Sorkin, who went took pains to stress that hes involved in film and television, went on a profanity laced tirade against Palin for her caribou hunt. Australias Sydney Morning Herald bemoaned: Most disturbing is the way [Palin] seems to enjoy causing suffering to other beings.” And the animal rights group Defense Of Animals, issued a statement that said: Palins complete lack of compassion as demonstrated in this snuff video is disgusting.
These handwringers certainly are an intolerant lot, arent they?
Fortunately, Sarah Palins Alaska provides lessons in handling intolerance that are just as valuable as those it provides on manliness. It does this by reminding us that it’s time for us to be intolerant for a change: that extremists who describe hunters with words like “shithead, as Sorkin does, or insinuate that humans and animals are the same type of beings, or equate joy over a successful hunt with a lack of compassion, do not hold opinions...

That should be good. Is this the one with whitewater rafting, too?
Wonderful column at The American Thinker today, posted here: The left sees history's fist coming. Again.
I’m not sure. We will have to watch!
For about a week or so, which not so coincidentally would be their lifespan in the wilds, maximum...

Where the bleeding heart animal worsippers lose all credibility with real people is the fact that if you asked them to join you in an effort to protect unborn children from abortion, as well as protecting animals, they’d spit in your face, or worse!
I DVR’d the most recent SP’s Alaska and viewed it Monday evening. I had been afraid that having “P & M” Kate Gosselin on the show would somehow besmirch Sarah and her family. But to my mind, when Kate started her kveching and p-ing and m-ing, all it did was show HER for what SHE IS, and made Sarah look all the better, as a genuine person, who can handle the rough as well as the smooth.
I wounder if these dem hypocrites would start turn down donation from The Meat Packer and Butcher Union
So true. I've often thought my dad would have loved to live in Alaska, with his love of the outdoors, hunting and fishing. I think I would have loved it too.
He can’t even hold an umbrella right.
Yep and the other night on Oprah's special, Betty White admitted that she likes animals more than people. Well, she is an old lady, and I don't think she has any children. but thers is the mindset of a lot of those pro-abortion, animal rights idiots.
I love animals too, and I hate whale hunters and others who shoot American Bald Eagles, etc., but for crying out loud, everything in its proper place. I don't hate hunters or our food supply Sheesh.
LOL. Right, Kate's appearance was summed-up by Sarah awesome Dad..."she started bitching from the time she got off the plane"...lol. I felt for the kids. They were having a good time. Too bad their father, Jon, wasn't the parent accompanying them to the Palins.
WHACK! Good point!
behar is demonspeak for... demon.

Interesting! You are right! Now that I stop to think about it, Sarah's enemies, along with the Boy Scouts are everything that was GOOD about America until the homosexuals got their agenda into mainstream America and the libtards started in with their anti-God, anti-flag and anti-smalltown America, which included, family, guns, self-support and charity to others. Their assualts have taken root within the LSM, but not with the good American people and I still think there's more of us, than them. November gave us proof and hope of that.
Thanks very much for telling me. My sons were Cub and Boy Scouts, too. Be prepared. I remember that!
We’re a Scouting family too. Our sons are both Life Scouts, with the older one now writing up his Eagle project in parallel with his college applications. It’s a busy time around here! Scouting values and the skills of leadership, and self reliance will stand them both in good stead going forward. My husband and I have greatly enjoyed not only watching our sons growing up in the program, but also the companionship of many like-minded parents and their sons.

Hubby and I do not have TV reception, so we’ve never seen Sarah’s show. That’s why I don’t respond to these threads; I have nothing to say. But I do lurk.
Does anyone know if/when it’s going to be released on DVD? That’s how we watch the shows we like, by buying them. We’d love to support her with the purchase of the show, so we can see it, and to add it to our signed copies of her books.
Really, Kate, what did you know about Alaska before you showed up with your brood? Alaska is like, you know, so big and undeveloped and natural.
Oh, dear. Camping? What — you go out in the wilderness where there are really nasty wild bears who will eat you and you carry icky guns and you cook your own food over a fire and you live in a tent? Kate wants go to the local Holiday Inn and watch satellite TV, where they have heat, running water, and indoor plumbing.
I thought she was going to have a coronary when she and Sarah visited with Sarah's dad and she saw all the stuffed animal trophies. Heck, he'd showed her kids the various animal parts and bones and skulls. Where’d they come from, Kate? Her reaction at the bear training course and on the gun range did not prepare her for the reality of the Alaskan bush (as noted by the lack of bug repellent).
Kate made a complete and total fool out of herself on the show. Her kids were getting into the outdoors, but all she could do was thinking of getting away to some cushy motel or hotel. She acted like a spoiled teenager and not a 35 year old woman with eight kids that she is.
There are a lot of men and women who wish they could experience Alaska with Todd and Sarah, and her TV viewership reflects it. It would probably be higher ratings if it was on one of the networks (fat chance of that). For Kate Gosselin, going to Alaska was a total disaster in more ways than one. Word is she might not be such a hot pick for reality TV after all.
BTW, I remember one old timer that had to keep going to his truck... and taking a sip of some "medicine" he kept in the glove box... in a little silver hip flask... not in today's world... but then it was a different time and it was 13 degrees! :-)

I'm reminded of Margaret Thatcher's comment to GHW Bush in the first Gulf War:
"Remember, George, this is no time to go wobbly."
