It’s not about what’s best for the party but what’s
best for Steele.

Take a hike Mike.

When Michael S. Steele took over as chairman of the Republican National Committee earlier this year, he brought along longtime personal assistant Belinda Cook and gave her a salary nearly three times what her predecessor made.

Mrs. Cook’s son, Lee, also landed an RNC job.

Mr. Steele hired another family friend, Angela Sailor, to be the party’s outreach director at a salary of $180,000, more than double her predecessor’s compensation, though new responsibilities have been added to the job, according to a high-ranking RNC official and Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings.

Mr. Steele’s early record and personnel decisions figure to be hot topics at a special meeting of Republican state party chairmen Tuesday and Wednesday at National Harbor in Washington’s Maryland suburbs. His hiring of friends and the salaries he is paying them already helped to instigate a struggle over who controls the party’s purse strings, one that forced the new party chairman to relinquish some control to elected RNC members.

He doesn't stand a chance.

The establishment doesn't want him and conservatives don't want him.

The worthless RNC is in deep debt. I intend to continue to help perpetuate this by continuing to contribute directly to Conservatives.

Steele will be on Greta’s show tonight.

There is a Romney guy from MI aiming for the job, and also a Rove puppet.

Steele likes Sarah Palin ad she likes him.

"...stunned friends and foes Monday by launching a fight to keep his job..."

Didn't stun me. I'd have been amazed had he actually pulled the plug on himself and done us all the favor of leaving. Realistically, what in the he11 else can he do?

This is the best gig Steele has ever had, and the way that he's messed it up he'll never get anything any better. He's going to need to be pulled out of this position. I'm afraid that we're stuck with him.

heh-heh..

Please oh please call me back RNC..you'll get the same answer as last time.

To the individual campaigns my money will go, to the token's, nothing.

The RNC needs to get out of the "grey area" of politics and run with American value's. We DO NOT CARE about the color of anyone's skin. Just bring us American's who wish to uphold Liberty and values American's can get behind.

WE are the inclusive party based on the INDIVIDUAL and THEIR merit!!

I'm so tired of this kind of BS. At least two or three threads on Steele quiting, then one on him staying and fighting. Somebody is full of Shiite here. This one or the other threads ???? Wasted time reading these things.

We need someone who can raise adequate funds to get an effective ground game in place to turnout voters. That is the basic function of the RNC and Steele did not deliver. But for the fact that so many more of our voters were already self motivated that last election would have been a disaster rather than the big victory...a good ground game would have netted us several more of those seats we lost by very small margins.
