I'm glad other people find his "extraneous" background noise
making annoying. It's been bothering me for years.

I always wondered what it was, and I saw a news clip of his video
cam in which he'd take his stack of stuff, and bang it edge on
the desk so as to square it up, like it is a nervous tick.

Reminds me of a New Radio scene in which John Lovitz
offers to help Maura Tierney with the way her "s" comes
across. Cant' remember the name of the "flaw", but she, like
Rush, was not amused that it was pointed out.

Perhaps he could hire a professional radio guy to teach him the
ropes on keeping noises not intended for broadcast down to a
minimum.

OTOH, I'd just get a mouse pad first to bang or drum on.

Yeah, that's what Rush needs to do. If he did, he could move to the top of talk radio hosts. If only he'd listen to all the advice his listeners, imagine how big he could become!
