No, it would not go well. Sec Gates has quoted a poll stating that the majority of enlisted personnel no longer object of homosexuals in their ranks. That is probably correct. However, what is important is what the troops in the combat units think of this. These units, the one’s at the tip of the spear so to speak, are very macho, and tightly bonded, live together, party together, etc. It’s my opinion that within these units a poll would show a very unfavorable score to the question of allowing homosexuals in their ranks. And, this is where it matters - the point of the spear...
