To be most effective the Tea Party should focus on economic issues. Not to take anything away from the other concerns over social issues, but the economic situation is most serious right now. Reigning in government spending will have the effect of righting the nation on many social issues but by putting social issues front and center in the Tea Party it actually will make it less likely to get progress on them.

How are you going to reign in government spending when the selfish snot-nosed populace still wants their “free” handouts? Impossible!

You cannot start with the premise the issues are mutually exclusive.

social liberalism requires massive taxation and spending.

You can’t have one without the other.

I beg to differ here.

No nation, in fact other nations (Rome, Greece to name two) failed on account of their lack of moral values not on account of their bad monetary policies.

When the basic principle of life, which is mentioned first above all other rights, is trampled, no other rights can be held sacred for without the first no other right matters.

Secondly, when rampant and accepted homosexuality was practiced, nations fell into decline.

As Tocqueville so aptly stated, "America is great because America is good."

He did not state, "America is great because Americans have a good tax policy and there are no moral absolutes there."

Dead wrong.

Saving people's wealth is far less important than practicing morality, and that absolutely includes what candidates one votes for.

No liberals, and no liberal policies.

No Romneycares, no McAmnestys, and none of their policies.

Wrong....even IF it would work, which it won’t, what good is it to live in a “good economy” if everything else is a moral sewer. NOTHING SHOULD EVER TAKE PRECIDENCE OVER MORAL ISSUES. Get the moral issues right and everything else will fall into place.

Sorry but I cannot agree that social issues don’t affect the economy. I am not going to stop resisting or start supporting queers, abortion and illegal aliens.

Can’t separate the two. The elite mindset does not, and they associate all rejection of social engineering with fiscal responsibility etc. Voters have learned that those who cave on social issues and likely to “compromise” on fiscal and economic issues. The first nation in the world to legalize abortion on demand was the Soviet Union.

So let me ask you a question.Have you ever been screwed over by a true conservative?True conservative meaning social and fiscal combined. Now I will ask you another question.Just how many times have you been screwed over by a rino?My point being is that your allies are true conservatives(Not the loosertarian nonsense) and if you try, as the republican party constantly tries, to screw over the conservatives with this nonsense of excluding the social issues you will be sadled with demorats or at best a rino that caves to the demorats.Just like both bushes and a scott brown. The tea party is conservative and we are for the old fashioned values that we remember as kids and young adults. Not the crap being served up by an out of control gubmint.

I got some economic issues for you:

1) zero out AIDS funding
2) zero out abortion funding
3) zero out the department of Education, the EPA, the BATF, and the Post Office

You can see the intersect, right?

You have it exactly backwards. The primary reason why we're in the economic situation we're in is because of societal breakdown. Just a few examples.

Breakdown of the family because the government has taken the place of fathers.

Breakdown of a collective moral or religious ethos because we're raising feral and poorly developed chidren.

Breakdown of our borders because we're contracepting and murdering off our own offspring out of the workforce.

Breakdown of political, financial and educational systems because of ignorance, hedonism and lack of knowledge of history, law and proper civic orientation.

I could go on (and on) but the point is that we won't be collectively financially successful (in any comprehensive and lasting way) without addressing these fundamental issues.

The economic situation is what it is because...

"...What it basically means is: to change the perception of reality of every American that despite of the abundance of information no one is able to come to sensible conclusions in the interest of defending themselves, their families, their community, and their country.

It's a great brainwashing process which goes very slow and is divided into four basic stages.

The first stage being "demoralization"..."
--KGB Defector Yuri Bezmenov
Soviet Subversion of the Free Press (Ideological subversion, Destabilization, CRISIS - and the KGB)

There is no economic solution without correcting the underlying, CAUSATIVE, social disease.
