TLC and why Palin will never be president -- part 2
Last week I wrote a piece pegged to tonight's TLC pairing of Kate Gosselin and Sarah Palin on Palin's "Alaska" reality TV series.
The core of my commentary was that Palin will never be president because she has sold herself too cheap to low-rent reality-TV venues like TLC, and now she is being perceived as another one of the channel's freak moms like Kate Gosselin or the women on the series "I Didn't Know I was Pregant." As the title so coyly suggests, that shows features women who gave birth and claim they didn't know ther were pregant. You can also now lump Palin in with the twisted stage moms of "Toddlers & Tiaras," a show that sexualizes little girls, and the women of "Sister Wives," TLC's celebration of polygamy.
/snip
Palin has been reduced to the level of Gosselin by allowing herself to become part of the debased TLC stable of "stars."
Was it really worth a million dollars for Palin to allow herself to be associated with the rest of the folks on this freak show reality-TV channel? Either way, this is the kind of thing that will keep her from ever being president.
Yes,Sarah, Ronald Reagan did have a TV career, too. But it was never with bottom-feeding programs like this.

I am glad that you are hard at it with the pic’s. This morning I decided to start to collect Palin pic’s on a CD.
My collection is off to a good start. LOL
earlJam posting his usual Palin attack on a liberal, pro-homosexual site. I will say again, he is a liberal RINO piece of crap.
Part way through the show, even though I had fast forwarded through the reality show fluff, I found myself shouting, “HIRE A DAMN NARRATOR!!!!”
My wife yelled at me for using the “d” word in front of my daughter. Shortly after that, she said to me under her breath, “Yea, she’s getting on my nerves, too.”

You would think that if he was trying to pretend to be a “concerned” Republican that he could at least use a different name on the left-wing websites that he posts on.
earlJam - epic fail, RINO, big steaming POS
I am already convinced that she is very photogenic.
Oh, pissant, and right after I complimented you.
Thanks! Don’t know how I missed your post—the kids and I have been sick here so it’s hit and miss the past few days—I follow the governor on Twitter and have RTed her post in several places too. :-) I think people are going to be surprised watching tonight. Sarah and Kate do have a lot in common (aside from big families, both are ardent runners, both very organized, both love those crazy high heel shoes! ;-). Rumor is the kids all had a blast, even if it wasn’t Kate’s favorite time, LOL. We’ll see later on!
I suggested to one of her support websites, after her first book, that she do a second one for liberals....A picture book on Alaska, weaving in the oil issue and other pro political ideas. Guess she figured a TV series with an A+ producer and photographers was an even better idea.
Can't wait to see the one on the oil industry.....We'll hear the explosion all across America!
Those comments were copy and pasted FROM THIS SITE.
However those who thought that the show would gain audience as it progressed appear to have been mistaken.

an Alaska-based travelogue reality show
IMO, too much reality show and not enough Alaska.
I couldn’t get through week two without the fast-forward button.

Lets let them think she is tanking and we are growing weary, and then BOOM

I can remember when TLC was "The Learning Channel," when they had shows like "ancient warriors" that told about Japanese ninja and Brian Boru.
Everything on TV has turned to trash.
Kudos! Have you sent this to Jim? I’d love to see this link really broadcast here and made an example of.
Is this a re-write of a George Soros fax???
Well toeJam, you’ve proven me correct....... you ARE a coward.
Is it Romney or Huckabee? Whose whore are you?
I frequent several places where there are liberals (FB, among others) and was surprised to see the liberals who watched the hunting episode actually PRAISING Sarah for the most part (only one was anti-hunting) for going out and getting food for her family *herself* (well, with her dad’s and becker’s help)—I was a little skeptical when I first heard about the show too, but I think it is really making a dent in people who are democrats and ‘liberal’ but really don’t know a lot about what that party actually supports...and some liberal minds are being changed. So it’s a good thing! :-)
I have never stated that I “hate” Sarah Palin. I have also sated that she was the MVP in this year’s elections. I think she has a future. I think she is a valuable asset and I am glad she in on the team.
In the same manner, I like Glenn Beck, even though I don’t follow him or watch his show. He reaches a lot of people, informs them and motivates them to action.
But I am as enthusiastic about a Sarah Palin candidacy as I would be with one by Glenn Beck.
They both are doing fine in their current positions.
