SIERRA VISTA A year ago, when just 242 holiday wreaths were laid on the graves of veterans in Sierra Vista, a group of local women thought those who served this country deserved better, and they decided to do something about it.
On Saturday morning, each and every one of the nearly 1,400 graves at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery was adorned with a touch of red and green as a result of their effort.
I saw a news story of the wreaths on the graves. My dad and mom are in a niche in the Columbarium. Are there any wreaths in that section of Arlington? Thanks.
Sorry. I saw the headline and thought about Arlington. There are wreaths on the graves at Arlington, too.
Don’t know, but would hope there are.
Thanks! I see they are lying them at the temporary markers of the newly interned that have not received their headstones as of yet. It is nice to know a veterans cemetary has been dedicated there in my adoptive hometown. I see the JROTC wears the orange and white as I did when I served with STRATCOM in Teheran. It is just a shame that SV is in Giffords district.
If you ever get out this way again, you need to check out this cemtery. It’s well cared for, designed for respect and honor.

No, it’s a crying shame that we are still stuck with Gabby as our Congressperson.
I will be that way next year while trecking to Laguna Seca. They have just opened a Veteran’s Cemetary right here in Jacksonville with lots to be added to replace the temporary offices and such.
I’ll FreepMail you when I expect to be on the road.
Come on down! It’s well done and I think you’ll like how tehey honor all vets.
