IMAGES OF THE DRAGON CAPSULE:
SpaceX is also developing a capsule capable of carrying up to 7 passengers. It is called Dragon and will be able to dock with the International Space Station. Pressurized Cargo/Crew capacity is 2500+ kg and 14 cubic meters, it is designed for water landing under parachute for ocean recovery.
There will also be another version of the capsule called DragonLab around 2010. It will be available to researchers and other payloads as a free-flying space platform capable of staying in space from one week to two years.
Next, the Moon
But thats not all. SpaceX is also advertising the capabilities of its launchers to carry payloads to the moon.

the flight nevertheless provided public vindication for Mr. Musk, who invested more than $100 million of his personal fortune in the company And to think that idiot Meg Whitman spent $163 million to lose to Jerry Brown. She could have spent just $63 million and started a competing rocket company at the same time and we'd be in the midst of the coolest free-market capitalist space race ever.
FWIW there is no doubt in my mind that Elon is going to earn back every dime of it over the next several years.

Musk is perhaps most famous for his role at Tesla Motors, of which he is a co-founder, chairman of the board, and the sole product architect. First investing in April 2004, he led several rounds of financing, and became CEO in October 2008. Tesla Motors builds an electric sports car, the Tesla Roadster, and plans to produce a more economical four door electric sedan.

I wonder how many former NASA engineers he has working for him? I bet the engineers are loving every minute of it!

“Barely eight years after Internet entrepreneur Elon Musk opened makeshift offices in suburban Los Angeles, his company accomplished something that none of the world’s aerospace giantsand so far only five national space progamshave been able to achieve.”
Congratulations to Space X on a flawless mision! The rocket was also carrying several small payloads.
Now, my reason for posting. None of the world’s aerospace giants have accomplished this? I wonder who the author thinks builds all that NASA equipment? I understand the authors point but NASA didn’t build anything, contractors did.
