Two African-American Democrats on Thursday announced that they were joining the Republican Party.
Hall County Commissioner Ashley Bell and former state executive committee member Andre Walker said the Democratic Party had grown too liberal and they are finding a new home with the Republicans.

Welcome Home, Gentlemen.
REPUBLICANS have been freeing the Democrat Plantation slaves since 1861. Some in this generation have finally begun to realize that.
I did some work polling in western Florida more than 30 years ago, blacks tended to be more conservative on social issues involving personal values than whites. This is because the leaders of the black communities in the small towns of the panhandle were nearly entirely the preachers of old time black baptist churches, since black elected officials and unions were few and far between. Just as in California they were against gay issues, they also were pro death penalty, and pro-life.
and a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
When I hear these people speak like Allen West, I will believe. Remember Colin Powell was in the end, either very stupid, very uninformed or just a race patriot because he voted for the far left radical over the just right of center war hero because the guy was black.
I do hope this is a true change of heart though.
‘Welcome home, gentlemen’...yes,indeed, and bring your like-minded family members and friends as well.
Well, then people like Allen West (who grew up in Atlanta) ...
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Add Herman Cain to the list of black conservatives from Atlanta.
I think we are on the verge of a Great Awakening.
Welcome to the light Brothers!
This is good news. A great many people are conservatives at heart, they have just been fed a pack of lies for so long.... so I am very grateful to see this happening!
I was led to Reverend Manning just recently by two persons, here at this forum. What a wonderful blessing to see someone (Reverend Manning) and these two gentlemen that understand the democrats are liberals and leftists. I sincerely welcome these two gentlemen. Gentlemen, we are counting on you to help spread the word. Your words will help, yes indeed, bring all family and friends gentlemen, Home!
Amen!
Yep. Black RINOs can serve more of a purpose than white RINOs can now anyway. Not only will their present start to give more blacks the mental permission to consider the GOP alternative, but they also have a chance of serving in black-majority and otherwise gerrymandered liberal districts in which the GOP wouldn’t regularly have a chance at this point.
Beck recently suggested on his tv show that they just start calling themselves the Democratic Socialist Party. Those progressives are so good at using names.
I am not going to say that just because they are black, they must be RINOs. The fact that they were previously Democrats, I find troublesome, but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt for now.
I am in praise to God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit for this blessing. Thank You, Lord. Amen.
Where?
Hall county Georgia is a long-drive commuting suburb NE of Atlanta. It is work-for-a-living country, plus some retirees on the lake. It is NOT a bastion of entitlement.
It has a substantial hispanic population centered in Gainesville, but most of those folks are working class LEGAL residents and resident aliens, since Ga has really cracked down on illegals and the people who hire them ... as long as you are outside of metro Atlanta.
These gentlemen are welcome to join the new South, where values, character and conservative principles DO matter.
see my post below yours.
Democrats becoming Republicans is good news as they are moving to the right. Who knows how far right their journey will take them? You have to have faith in the conservative message.
I don’t care what color they are, we don’t need dems jumping into the Party. It will not further conservative goals unless they truly hold conservative values and ideals.
I bet they voted for Obama so that tells you they are NOT conservatives and quite frankly I question their motives. Is this just to get reelected?
