I agree with your analysis. Obama starts off that Clinton had a presidency with a very good economic policy that gave a prosperous time for America. he was trying to sell the democrats and was using Bubba as a spokesman to bring the democrats around.
As if to say, look Not only do I think this is the best I can do .. so does Clinton .. who you respect. Now hear it from his own mouth.
What he never figured on though was that Clinton would take over for 30 minutes and be so eloquent in his speech. The reality of this is that this may well be one of the biggest hurdles of Obama’s presidency thus far, even including Obamacare. Only because he has to get his own party in line to do it. Bringing Bubba in shows that he can not lead.

Having Clinton go on for 30 minutes, articulating what the great orator can not (without a teleprompter no less) is going to be devastating to his base.
It may well sell the congressmen and senators but the people who voted for Obama are not going to be happy about this at all. Not to mention the foreign powers who now view Obama as someone who can not get his own people in line.

Imagine Putin turning over such a delicate matter to one of his predecessors? What must he be thinking of Obama now? What are the Chinese thinking now? Iran? N Korea?
Obama may well have had the intention of having a father figure go out and calm the senate, but he opened Pandora’s box IMO with the rest of the world and his base.

It was a bad move on his part, it will get a lot of air time and as much as I think Clinton is one of the biggest problems we ever had, he does talk a very effective game. No ummm’s .. no .. but but but but’s .. and he was poised.
Clinton may well have enjoyed the lime light and having been the one to Bail out junior as well. I don;t think he ever forgot what Obama did to him in the elections playing the race card on him etc. Stealing the presidency from Hillary .. I am sure he enjoyed it and it will make people wonder if they made the wrong choice.

All and all, a bad move on Obama’s part. REAL bad.

Next thing they will laugh their heads off, like we are.

After that, I don’t know. Dear God I hope Biden invokes Amendment 25.
