Earlier this year, he pledged $100 million over five years to the Newark, N.J. school system

What an absolute colossal waste.

Zuckerberg would had been better off starting a non profit private school in Newark than throwing it down the NJ sewer.

I have heard that the money for Newark is to go to charter schools only. This was hearsay—I didn’t read it anywhere. Does anyone know if this is true?

By the way, Newark has a lot of potential. It has a very caring, hardworking, deeply Christian mayor, and now NJ has a great governor.

I know you can’t improve schools by throwing money at them. But maybe intelligent people will figure out how to use the money to really improve things, as in Gates’s idea of improving measurement of teachers’ performance (Baltimore).
