“It has saved the county millions of dollars.”

If the illegals are indeed serving time for their crimes...can someone explain how deporting illegals AFTER they’ve completed their prison sentence ‘saves’ us money? Seems to me the only way they’d be saving money is if they deported them instead of incarcerating them, and that, IMO, is a get out of jail free card.

It's called "recidivism". If a community deports an illegal alien, even if the person returns to the U.S. illegally, the deportation process probably acts as a great disincentive to return to the same community.

Arizona, if it begins to enforce its new law, will probably cause many of its illegals to flee to Kalifornia and other havens for illegals. It will definitely save Arizona money.

When the United States government begins to enforce our immigration laws, then all the states can save money; with the loss of many illegal Democrat voters, no doubt.

I meant to add that the disincentive for an illegal to be in any given community affects not only those who are deported but also those who might later face deportation.

Anybody who doubts the effect of enforcing laws needs simply to imagine how many bank robberies there would be if the government stopped prosecuting bank robbers.
