The attacks, which have made the headlines in the last couple of days, have seemingly been in support of the controversial WikiLeaks whistle-blowing site and its high profile founder Julian Assange.
Details are very sketchy, but it is reported that the unnamed youth is in police custody and is being interrogated by detectives from the Dutch National High-Tech Crime Team. He is said to have confessed to the attacks, and is due to appear in court in Rotterdam on Friday.

There’s probably a ‘finger in the dike’ joke here, but anybody supporting those responsible for these leaks — and the likely deaths of our people/sources by extension — should be strung up together... so I’m not exactly in a joking mood here.

Pretty darn quick to find a suspect. All of this wiki-assange ‘leaks’ is nothing more than a flushing out of those who disagree.
Seize his computers and personal records, subpoena all the logs at his ISP related to his account and his phone records, and then post all of it and the content of his hard drives on the internet and let his victims start sorting it and seeing who and where it leads to.
Is this the same bunch that solved the Natalie Holloway murder?

It will be possible to eventually find out who most of these script kiddies are, and to be able to prosecute them. Router logs will lead right to where they are. Aside from the illegality, I wouldn’t want the legal department from Visa or Mastercard figuring out how they’re going to spend my earnings for the next 30 years. The civil liability will be horrendous for those they catch and decide to sue.
