To me the important message in this good article is that a political demographic based on ethnicity (Hispanic) is trumped by the political climate of the geography.

So when the Fernandez, Melendez and Sanchez's in CA move to TX to get a job, they tend to lose their democratic leaning and take on republican. Seems normal. Actually makes me optimistic.

I’m hopeful too. The Millenials are the most indoctrinated demographic to date.

It’s hard to overcome government schooling.

But, the oldest of them are still young - 27 y.o. Reagan changed the game when he proved his policies could work and an entire young generation came with him and stayed. It’s hard to be conservative K-College, but that changes with reality - work, marriage, family.

NB that gun control isn’t an issue, but “civil rights” are - homosexual marriage and income redistribution.

If you can come up with a pro-market agenda that undermines Leftist ideals of class warfare and redistribution you can move the Millenials to our side of the ledger.

On the environment they need a real education, but Sun spots may help us to win them over. Nobody wants to support a lie, especially when the truth comes out making them look like dupes.

On homosexuality we’ll have a tough time. With government schools essentially Godless that void is being filled with secular humanism.

Blacks and Latinos aren’t pro-homosexual, but they still vote Democratic.

In the end people vote their pocketbooks. That’s the GOP strong suit if they can get the message out as they restart the economy. That and taxes will help working Latinos and Millenials stay on our side.
