Leaving aside the merits of the tax-compromise between Obama and the Republican leadership, this decision by the House Dems holds huge promise of handing a sheleighly to any Republican challenger to a Democract up for re-election. If running against Pelosi gave such good results this past election, just imagine how effective it will be to campaign against a Democratic tax increase in the midst of a recession!

You see, it's one thing to argue tax policy in the abstract. THAT debate seems to be slowly tipping toward the conservative side anyway.

But, when a particular tax policy (e.g. the Dems') gets applied to EVERYONE's pocketbooks, diminishing not only jobs and government revenues but also reducing every working man's and woman's paycheck ... well, then the debate is no longer abstract.

People vote their pocketbooks (which is why welfare dependents vote for Democrats so faithfully!). The Democratic insistence on raising taxes is about as potent a pocketbook issue for working voters as you can possibly manufacture.

Ohhhh...you are so correct!

And, to be honest, I’m thinking that people NEED to FEEL the impact of the Democrat policy...in order to truly and completely reject it.
